Taylor Swift wint IFPI’s Global Recording Artist of the Year

Taylor Swift is afgelopen woensdag bekroond tot ‘Global Recording Artist of the Year’. Deze prijs wordt uitgereikt door de IFPI, de vertegenwoordiger van de muziekindustrie wereldwijd.

Swift heeft de prijs voor de derde keer in tien jaar tijd gewonnen en is daarmee degene die de prijs het vaakst wint. De andere artiesten in de top 3 dit jaar zijn BTS en Drake.

Frances Moore, Chief Executive van IFPI, zegt: “It is a great pleasure to award the IFPI Global Recording Artist Award to Taylor Swift for an unprecedented third time in the chart’s ten-year history. Taylor is a truly magnificent international star, who continues to grow and evolve as an artist whilst maintaining an incredibly strong connection with her fans around the world.”

Andere artiesten die opvielen zijn Bad Bunny, die als eerste Zuid-Amerikaanse artiest ooit uit in de top 5 staat en Jay Chou, die als eerste Taiwanees te vinden is in de lijst.
